Report of the meeting with the Foreign Relations Department of the Afghan Ministry of Education – An important step towards humanitarian cooperation
In a recent productive and purposeful meeting between our organization’s representatives and the Department of External Relations of the Afghan Ministry of Education, key issues regarding the basic needs of schools in Afghanistan were discussed and exchanged. The meeting was attended by Ministry of Education staff, including an active and caring member of that department, and our organization’s representatives, including Mr. Khair Mohammad Sahil, Mr. Nisar Ahmad Ahmadi, and Ms. Faryal Bahlool.
In this cordial and practical meeting, the two sides conducted an in-depth review of the current situation of schools. Representatives of the Ministry of Education raised serious concerns regarding the construction conditions of schools, the lack of electricity systems, the lack of access to safe drinking water, and other infrastructure challenges. Referring to the numerous problems, they emphasized the importance of support from international institutions and humanitarian organizations in addressing these needs.
Our organization’s representatives, fully understanding the depth of the problems raised, expressed their commitment to cooperation and support for schools in need in Afghanistan. Our goal is to provide effective and sustainable assistance to improve educational environments, especially for girls and women in deprived areas of the country.
One of the notable points in this meeting was the appreciation expressed by the Ministry of Education officials for the assistance and long-standing relations between Japan and the people of Afghanistan. They thanked Japan for its support in the past and called for the continuation of these good and humanitarian relations. According to them, the people and government of Japan have always been loyal friends of the people of Afghanistan, and given the current sensitive situation, the continuation of these cooperations can have a significant impact on improving the educational situation in the country.
We believe that today, more than ever, there is a need for the international community, especially the honorable people and government of Japan, to stand by Afghanistan once again. Saving a nation’s education is saving its future. Therefore, we invite all Japanese institutions, philanthropists, and partner organizations to participate in this humanitarian mission and help us build a brighter future for the young generation of Afghanistan.
